SMITHVILLE / TEXASLocated along historic Main Street in Smithville, 209 Main is entering a new chapter as a flexible, multi-level gathering space designed to bring new life to a longtime community landmark. Our team approached the project through the lens of adaptive reuse, balancing preservation with the flexibility needed for its next chapter. Early-stage visioning and programming shaped a range of potential uses, from weddings and wellness retreats to trainings, celebrations, and community events. The design creates opportunities for simultaneous programming across both floors while maintaining the character of the existing building. From architectural modifications and a custom stair to interior design, brand development, and future-use planning, every element was considered to help 209 Main evolve while staying connected to its place in Smithville.
